Thank You Governor Kelly! - Education First Shawnee Mission

Thank You Governor Kelly!

Posted on June 29, 2020

At Education First Shawnee Mission, we feel so lucky to have Laura Kelly leading Kansas forward. She recently advocated for the State Finance Council to approve a $900 million certificate of indebtedness, and she was successful! That means Kansas can pay our teachers and state employees. We know there will be difficult decisions in the 2021 Legislative Session, but we trust that our Governor will be looking out for public education.

“We got the certificate of indebtedness passed, and we can now continue to operate the state,” said Governor Kelly. “So I’m very excited about that.”

Thank you Governor Kelly!
