Endorsement Process

Education First takes great pride in our thorough candidate review and selection process. First, surveys are sent to all candidates running for Shawnee Mission District Board of Education seats with a strong focus on our priority issues. Next, candidates who completed the survey are invited to face-to-face interviews with members of our Board to share more about their positions. Finally, candidate responses are rated using a professional rubric to score both the surveys and subsequent interviews. Final decisions on endorsements are made by totaling those scores.
